Change Password for Keychain "Local Items"...

Deleting and recreating the keychain to reset it is not the only way to repair a broken Local Items keychain! If your Mac keeps asking for the Local Items keychain password, the keychain password might have somehow gotten out of sync with your Mac user account password. This could happen due to complications during password change for network accounts managed through Active Directory. Before OS X El Capitan, this issue could be resolved by performing Keychain First Aid. Unfortunately, since OS X El Capitan, Apple removed the Keychain First Aid option from the Keychain Access app, leaving users without a clear solution when they encounter issues with the Local Items keychain. When user attempts to remedy the solution by changing the Local Items keychain password as one would if the issue occurs to the login keychain, the option to Change Password for Keychain "Local Items" is greyed out.
